Wee gallery
Before a baby learns to reach and grasp or learns to crawl and sit, his eyes provide important information and stimulation for his development. High-contrast images offer newborns the best chance to concentrate and promote visual exploration and engagement.
At birth, babies have a small field of vision and are attracted to repetitive shapes and high-contrast details. Only after 6 months do they begin to perceive a more comprehensive vision of objects.
This knowledge has been the basis for Surya, a graphic designer with a background as a zoologist, and her husband Dave, a teacher, to develop black-and-white booklets for babies. Over the years, the collection has expanded to include booklets with more colour, tactile books and bath books
